I "upgraded" to Windows 10 in October or early November. I am so very, very, very unhappy with Windows I do not like Windows 10 at all.
I want to go back to Windows XP. I used to be computer literate, but have been out of it for so long, I no longer remember half the stuff I need to look at to figure things out. Short answer, Yes. If it is a commercial system check the user manual to see how to boot into 'system restore' while booting from bios provided the restore partition is still on the drive. Keep in mind that system ' restore ' is not the same thing as system ' recovery '. Win7 RC, version , is usable until July, However, at that time you will be right back where you are now. Windows XP is still available for sale - Tigerdirect still shows them for sale and available so I'd think that other vendors will have it as well.
Suggest you check with your favorite on-line sales vendor. Don't know why you didn't like Win7, but personally I would not buy a new version of XP to reinstall. I'd rather invest the money into a copy of Win7 and learn to use it.
Win7 is superior in many ways. On the other hand, if you have the activation key for your old XP you may be able to borrow a copy of the same version from a friend and use your key to install it.
