Easter bunny baskets templates for kids

Your kids could even just decorate it with felt pens and stickers instead. This craft is ideal to do with for 6 — 8 year olds. You can, of course, just make the baskets without the bunny — they look really pretty on their own, especially with an added trim or sticky gems!

See the end of the post for more! If you want to cover it with paper, cut a piece approximately 4. Cut a strip of green paper approx. Fold it in half, then in half again, then in half again!

Draw a zigzag onto the paper and cut along the lines. Unfold the paper — and voila! You have a strip of grass! Cut a strip of coloured card approx. Print or trace the bunny template onto some card. Cut it out and draw on a face. Colour in the ears or cut out and glue on pieces of pink card or wrapping paper. Put glue or double-sided sticky tape where indicated in the photo.

Line up the bottom of the bunny with the bottom of the basket and stick them together. If you use glue, you may need to add some pieces of sticky tape or masking tape to hold the bunny in place while it dries. Cut a square of tissue paper approx. Push it down so that it sticks to the tape at the bottom. Give the bunny a tail by sticking on a pompom or cotton ball. If you use a cotton ball I recommend cutting it in half — it will stay in place better. I made mine from a scrap of glitter card.

As far as my kids are concerned, Easter is definitely one of the top three days of the year. Personally though, I like Easter a lot less as an adult than I did as a kid, the chief reason being that feeling I get when I see my kids scoff too much chocolate at once. But then I remember how much I loved eating chocolate at their age, how exciting it was to hunt for eggs and how much I enjoyed making Easter crafts.

So at our place we do egg hunting, we do Easter crafts, we do hot cross buns on Sunday morning and if there is a little too much chocolate and other junk food around I try not to let it get to me. When it comes to Easter crafts, I enjoy making baskets best of all because the possibilities are limitless.

Miss 7 was able to cut them out and put them together by herself, while miss 6 only needed a little bit of help with the gluing and folding. Originally I was going to make them in grey or white like a real bunny but pink and purple were requested, and we also decided to make them in yellow and blue.

A good thing about these little bunnies is that they only hold mini eggs — that way parents can be happy too! Just making these with my maths class…. YOuu fold and glue together. There are some instructions on the page, but basically the head is glued to the extra tab on the basket, the tail is glued to the extra folded piece which is in turn glued to the back of the basket , and the feet are glued to the base of the basket.

The handle is glued to the inside or you could use sticky tape for extra strength. You need to enter your email address into the space provided and the template will be emailed to you.
